A PASSION FOR THE CANOPIES

AUSTIN SOUCIE, Owner

Born and raised in Boise, Idaho, Austin has lived in the Pacifc Northwest for most of his life. As an alumni at Coeur d’Alene High School, he graduated in 2010, making his way into the workforce. After several years of jobs consisting of food service and construction, Austin discovered the career path of Arboriculture. Austins first thoughts were “I didn’t even know that people did this type of thing. It’s cool and adventurous, hanging from the trees and running saws. I love it!” Since then he strived to learn as much as possible about the industry and new techniques in tree care.

He went from learning knots on the ground, to starting to climb trees in less than a year. He learned from ISA certified arborist about different climbing, rigging, and proper pruning techniques. They also taught him about different trees, their characteristics, and common ailments they may get.

After several years of climbing, he gained knowledge and experience, understanding how to better safely prune and remove trees. When pruning, he keeps in mind how the tree will grow, trimming for future growth, to ensure that in 5 or 10 years the tree will be in healthy condition. When doing removals, he learned a litany of rigging techniques to be able to safely remove trees that had no room for error. Whether leaning over a house or dead standing, there is a way to take care of any tree safely.

With over a half decade of experience, Austin Soucie is a tree climber dedicated to the art and craftsmanship of Arboriculture. Guided by ISA certified arborists, he has learned proper pruning, rigging and climbing techniques, as well as tree physiology. From the basics on the ground to climbing trees, he has acquired the knowledge and experience to safely service any tree.
